Lars Gregersen works in the Scandinavian tradition of design and function. All his designs are hand thrown in porcelain and finished in glazes using only natural pigments. We have been collaborating with him for the past few years in developing a special range of tableware in wonderful colours which can be purchased on their own or mixed and matched. Soendergaard Design was set up in 1995 by Danish born potter Lars P.Soendergaard Gregersen. From an early age Soendergaard was interested in ceramics, encouraged buy his uncle Reinhold Soendergaard Gregersen himself a well known artist in Denmark. Following an apprenticeship with the Danish studio pottery Brangstrup Stoneware Soendergaard worked for several potteries in Denmark as a potter and designer. In 1993 he moved to London as a production manager in a company making ceramic tabletops. 2 years later he started his own business developing and selling his own designs. Soendergaard works within the Scandinavian tradition of design and function. All designs are hand thrown on the wheel in finest English porcelain, handles are hand pulled and all pots are fired by the craftsman himself.
Due to the alkaline based properties of this exceptional and unique glaze, we advise against using highly acidic liquids, ie. lemon juice, within the range. With prolonged contact of strong acids, the surface of the matt glaze is susceptible to corrosion giving a ‘bleached’ effect.
All Soendergaard design porcelain is dishwasher, oven and microwave safe. Matt glazes are best cleaned using a dishwasher.
