Sabatier Frères kitchen knives
We have chosen ‘Sabatier Frères’ as the prime example of the many French-made kitchen knives labelled ‘Sabatier’. This superb range is manufactured by Coutellerie Au Nain, a small specialist firm in St. Rémy-sur-Durolle, the traditional cutlery region in central France. The secret of ‘Sabatier K’ lies in its structure. The massive forged tang goes right through the length of the handle, giving strength and an excellent balance. Knives are riveted with aluminium. Handles are made of a newly developed combination of ABS/fibreglass. A sophisticated moulding process has eliminated any gap between handle and metal part of the bolster. All knives are fully forged except the Au Nain ham knife.
The Chef’s Fork with Guard is a traditional pattern from another manufacturer, selected to match our Sabatier carving knives.
