Supremely elegant fine porcelain from the Kaneko Kohyo pottery, founded in 1921 in Toki City, Japan. ‘Giyaman’ is a Japanese loanword meaning ‘glassware’ and refers to the lustrous deep blue glaze which gives a glowing radiance reminiscent to glass.

The rich Aizome glaze highlights the gently undulating shape of the traditional Japanese chrysanthemum design, the Imperial Emblem of Japan.

Suitable for microwaves and dishwashers.

Kaneko Kohyo was founded in 1921 by Ito Kohyo and began on a small mountain near Toki City in Gifu Prefecture, an area renowned for its production of Japanese Mino-yaki pottery styles.Originally Japan’s largest producer of tokkuri (sake serving flasks), Kaneko Kohyo combines new firing technology and methods with traditional techniques and styles resulting in original, beautiful tableware for fine dining.
