Richard Batterham Potter

Richard Batterham Potter

One of the most admired potters of his generation. Richard Batterham worked at St. Ives with Bernard Leach before setting up his own pottery at Durweston near Blandford in Dorset. He has always worked on his own, firing his kiln five or six times a year. His domestic stoneware, with its subtle wood ash glazes, shows both English traditional and Oriental influence. We feel privileged to have stocked Batterham's pots since the David Mellor shops first opened in 1969.

Because these are individual pieces shapes and glazes may vary and supplies may fluctuate. A fuller selection will be found at both our shops.
